FUSILLI is a Natural Food and Resources project financed by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program. For four years, FUSILLI will focus on supporting cities to facilitate the transition to more sustainable food systems. To achieve this goal, the FUSILLI project combines the experience of 34 members from 13 countries, including cities, universities, SMEs, NGOs, and industries.

The central ambition of FUSILLI is to overcome the barriers to developing and implementing integrated and systemic food policies that support the transition to sustainable food systems in urban, semi-urban, and nearby rural areas. To achieve this goal, FUSILLI places 12 cities in a learning and knowledge-exchange network to tackle the challenges of food system transformation:

Each city will develop an open innovation ecosystem with the goal of implementing different innovative actions throughout all stages of the food chain, including production and processing, distribution and logistics, consumption, food waste, and governance.
