EROSKI, Foods and Beverages of Aragon, and the Food Cluster of Aragon are organizing training sessions on sustainability for food companies in Aragon.
As part of its program to support local suppliers.

- The training sessions will take place throughout 2026 and will address key aspects such as food waste, carbon and water footprints, packaging ecodesign, deforestation, the social dimension, and ESG communication.
EROSKI, the Aragón Food and Beverage Association, and the Aragón Food Cluster have launched a series of sustainability training sessions aimed at suppliers in the region. The initiative is part of EROSKI’s Supplier Support Program and seeks to strengthen the value chain’s training in sustainability issues and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.
Throughout 2026, various sessions will be organized in both in-person and online formats to address key topics for the agri-food sector such as food waste, carbon footprint calculation and the definition of decarbonization plans, packaging ecodesign, and adaptation to the European deforestation regulation. Social and governance-related topics will also be covered, such as the implementation of equality and diversity plans, as well as communication with stakeholders within the framework of new sustainability reporting standards.
The sessions will include presentations and case studies, with the aim of providing suppliers with practical tools to move towards more sustainable production models adapted to new regulatory and market requirements. These training actions are part of EROSKI’s Supplier Support Program, which, after an initial diagnostic phase to identify strengths and areas for improvement in environmental, social, and governance matters among SMEs (in which 394 suppliers participated, 55 of them in Aragón), is now promoting training activities in collaboration with key local stakeholders such as Alimentos y Bebidas de Aragón and the Aragón Food Cluster.
Cristina Rodríguez Domingo, Head of Sustainability at EROSKI, stated that “this series of sessions was created with the aim of supporting our suppliers at a time of major regulatory and market changes. Our goal is to provide practical training and useful tools that help them anticipate these challenges and progressively move towards more efficient and sustainable production models”.
In turn, Enrique Chueca, President of Alimentos y Bebidas de Aragón, highlighted that “collaboration with EROSKI in this program makes technical knowledge and real-world experience available to regional suppliers, helping strengthen their competitiveness and adaptation to the new environmental and social challenges of the agri-food sector”.
From the Aragón Food Cluster, these sessions are positively valued as they also help drive innovation in key areas for the competitiveness of agri-food companies.
The first session of the program took place on February 11 and was dedicated to the prevention and reduction of food waste, one of the sustainability priorities for the sector. The session was attended by around thirty Aragonese suppliers and served as the starting point for this training program aimed at supporting agri-food companies in their adaptation to new regulatory, environmental, and social challenges.
With initiatives like this, EROSKI reinforces its commitment to sustainability and support for local suppliers, promoting a more responsible, collaborative, and long-term oriented distribution model.
