INFORMPACK

InformPack is a project co-funded by EIT Food with European Union funds that explores the cross-cultural variations that exist between consumers towards food packaging in relation to product choice in purchase and disposal patterns. The findings will be used to create actions, tools and strategies that will influence public behaviour and present solutions to enable the transition to a more sustainable European food packaging ecosystem.
These include:
(I) Creating consumer-centric and country-specific engagement activities and incentive strategies, based on scientific facts and data provided by packaging experts; and
(ii) Use co-creation to generate ideas that can be harnessed for specific innovative actions in food packaging, reflecting the problems, public demands and needs of the industry in each country.
Our approach
Use co-creation as a vehicle to generate ideas that can be harnessed for specific innovative actions in the field of food packaging, reflecting the problems, the demands of the public and the needs of the industry in each country.
InformPack it adopts a cross-cultural approach while taking into account country-specific variations in food packaging in Europe, such as available product options and relevant packaging markets; new public issues related to food packaging; available systems and preferred means and formats of public communication.
We listen to people’s concerns and questions:
Consumers tell us about their beliefs, attitudes and problems around the choice of packaging and its elimination, so that we can create with them the themes and formats of dissemination of campaigns.
The project started in 2022, will last 3 years and brings together 6 partners: Aarhus University, VTT, BIOAZUL, MASPEX, the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, University of Reading and EROSKI.
