EROSKI advances in the modernization of its franchised network with an investment of 3 million euros in two years
It reinforces its business model and competitiveness

- The cooperative has renovated 55 stores to improve energy efficiency and optimize the shopping experience, in addition to incorporating novelties of the commercial model.
- The investment, made together with its franchisees, has been extended to establishments of the EROSKI and Caprabo teachings.
- The plan will continue in 2026 with the planned remodeling of between 20 and 25 additional stores.
EROSKI and its network of franchisees have invested 3 million euros in the last two years in the modernization of 55 establishments, within the framework of its strategy of evolution of the business model. This joint investment responds to the objective of continuing to advance in a more efficient store format, close and adapted to the new needs of consumers, while strengthening the competitiveness of the franchise network in the different territories in which it operates.
The main objective of the transformations has been the adaptation of the stores to the self-service model EROSKI City, the axis of the development of the franchise network of the cooperative. This process has been extended to establishments of the different branches of the group —EROSKI and Caprabo—, reinforcing the competitiveness of the network as a whole and aligning it with the standards of the company’s most recent commercial model.
For this, the improvements made have included the integral update of the commercial spaces, with the renewal of the image of the stores, the improvement of the communication at the point of sale and the incorporation of new elements of the commercial model, such as the bulk bakery. Also, in many of the establishments, the furniture of the sales room, the cold murals and the floors have been renovated, favoring a better organization of the space and a more comfortable shopping experience.
This model responds to a concept of proximity store, oriented to offer an agile and complete purchase, with special emphasis on fresh products, the own brand and an assortment adapted to the environment.
In addition, during this process, two stores have evolved specifically from the Aliprox model to the EROSKI City model, thus consolidating the deployment of the most current format of the company in its franchise network.
Energy efficiency and continuity of the modernisation plan
The improvement of energy efficiency has been another of the relevant axes of this renewal process. The stores have incorporated LED lighting systems, which allow to reduce electricity consumption and advance in the reduction of emissions associated with the activity.
Likewise, the equipment of the engine rooms has been renewed, incorporating more efficient solutions adapted to the current regulations on fluorinated gases, contributing to a more sustainable management of the establishments.
“This investment reflects the joint commitment with our franchisees to continue evolving our store model and offer a proposal increasingly adapted to the needs of the clientele. The modernization of the network and the continuous improvement of the establishments are key to continue strengthening the competitiveness of our franchise model“, Highlights Alberto Cañas, director of Franchises of EROSKI.
EROSKI plans to continue this line of work in 2026, with the remodeling of between 20 and 25 additional stores, thus advancing the deployment of the EROSKI City model in its franchised network.
