EROSKI renews its collaboration with the Euskadi Foundation to promote healthy lifestyle habits through sport

- The cooperative reinforces its commitment to the environment by supporting a sports project with social impact in the Basque Country.
EROSKI has renewed its collaboration agreement with the Euskadi Foundation, reinforcing its commitment to the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits through sport and a sports and social project deeply rooted in the territory.
This collaboration, initiated in 2025, is part of the cooperative’s commitment to support initiatives that generate positive impact in its environment and that contribute to promote healthy lifestyle habits among citizens, especially among children and young people through actions that combine sport, food and education in values.
The agreement was signed by the General Director of the EROSKI Foundation, Alejandro Martínez Berriochoa, the Director of Institutional Relations and Corporate Communication of EROSKI, Asun Bastida, Iñaki Isasi, President of the Euskadi Foundation, and Alexander Zapirain, General Director of the Euskadi Foundation.
Asun Bastida highlighted that “for EROSKI, this collaboration is a way to materialize our commitment to the environment and to projects that are part of the social and sports identity of the Basque Country. The Euskadi Foundation is a reference for its territorial roots and its social vocation, values with which we feel fully identified as cooperative”.
For his part, Alejandro Martínez Berriochoa has pointed out that “from Fundación EROSKI we work to promote healthy lifestyle habits among citizens, and sport is a key tool to achieve this. This collaboration allows us to bring these values closer to society, integrating physical activity, food and well-being into initiatives with real impact.”
Iñaki Isasi stressed that “we received with great enthusiasm this strategic alliance with the Eroski Group, a collaboration that transcends the sports field to deeply align with our shared values. This agreement not only reinforces our institutional commitment to the promotion of cycling and Basque culture, but also decisively integrates social and health goals, promoting healthy lifestyle habits especially among the youngest. The confluence of our corporate missions allows us to move towards a more sustainable and responsible development model, where the well-being of citizens and the promotion of physical activity are at the center of our joint action. For the Euskadi Foundation, having the support of an entity like Eroski that shares our vision on quality of life and social commitment is a fundamental milestone to continue promoting sport and the values that define us as a society.”
The renewal of this agreement reinforces a relationship that values sport as an engine of welfare and social transformation and consolidates EROSKI’s commitment to the development of the territory and to projects that generate value beyond the economic sphere
