The opening has created 21 jobs. The staff has received 240 hours of training aimed at providing better customer solutions and deepening the self-management capabilities of the in-store professional teams.
Its commitment to savings is best reflected in EROSKI Club, the loyalty program for customer members, which offers attractive promotions along with all the benefits of the Travel Club program, and which in the Balearic Islands has more than 410,000 members.
Strong focus on local fresh products
“This new store we are opening in Menorca will be supplied with a wide range of Balearic products. This is not only one of our organization’s hallmarks, but also a major attraction for our customers,” says Alfredo Herráez, Director of Supermarkets at EROSKI in the Balearic Islands.
EROSKI works with more than 130 small agri-food producers in the Balearic Islands, whose products are given prominent space across all store sections. The company’s commercial policy strongly supports local economies, creating wealth in the surrounding area and contributing to agri-food, economic, and social development. This model fosters a highly diversified productive network as a key element of sector sustainability.
Another hallmark is its commitment to personalized customer service, including staffed counters in the butcher and deli sections.
Dietary and organic products also have their place in the new supermarket, with dedicated areas covering new food trends. This section is further complemented by a wide range of products for food intolerances (gluten, lactose, etc.) and items suited to low-fat, low-sugar, or low-salt diets.
More efficient and sustainable
The store is also more environmentally sustainable. This new store model incorporates improvements in air conditioning, industrial refrigeration systems, and lighting. The use of more efficient and less polluting refrigerants, closed refrigerated cases, and LED lighting are some of the innovations implemented to minimize environmental impact, while also providing more comfortable lighting and temperature conditions for customers. EROSKI’s next-generation stores are more eco-efficient and include energy efficiency measures that reduce consumption compared to a conventional supermarket.
