- The Group maintained its positive performance during the first half of the year, with gross sales of €3.061 billion and a profit of €65.4 million.
- EROSKI Group continues to make progress with its strategic plan, driving the modernisation of its retail network and strengthening its financial structure, reducing its leverage ratio to 2.0 times EBITDA.
EROSKI Group closed the first half of its 2026 financial year, from 1 February to 31 July, with sustained growth in its commercial activity and improvements in its key financial indicators, against a consumer backdrop characterised by households’ high price sensitivity and moderate food price inflation.
During the first half of the financial year, gross sales reached €3.061 billion, 3.8% higher than in the same period of the previous year. Profit stood at €65.4 million, up from €55.5 million in the first half of 2025.
A half-year marked by competitiveness, own-brand products and customer loyalty
The positive performance of the business has been accompanied by a strengthening of EROSKI Group’s commercial proposition, aimed at offering families a competitively priced shopping basket without compromising quality, healthy eating, local products or strong local presence. This strategy remains particularly relevant in an environment in which price remains a decisive factor for households. Against this backdrop, EROSKI Group has maintained a competitive commercial proposition, continuing to offer customers extensive choice through our suppliers’ brands, local products and own-brand ranges. This has been achieved despite increases in certain operating costs, particularly those associated with transport and energy, strengthening our commitment to protecting consumers’ purchasing power.
Own-brand products continue to play a fundamental role in the Group’s commercial strategy, and now account for 36.6% of food sales. Their performance strengthens EROSKI Group’s ability to offer a balanced proposition in terms of quality and price, helping families save money while strengthening its competitive positioning.
At the same time, the Group continues to strengthen its relationship with customers. Sales made through the loyalty programme now account for 69.7% of total sales, demonstrating the effectiveness of the Group’s personalisation and loyalty initiatives.
The combination of a competitive commercial proposition, a strong own-brand offering, and an increasingly close relationship with customers is one of the cooperative’s main growth drivers in a particularly demanding consumer environment. This is complemented by its commitment to manufacturers’ brands and local products, as well as to developing stable relationships with local producers and businesses. These are key elements of its cooperative identity and commitment to generating wealth in the communities it serves.
Progress on the strategic plan and modernisation of the retail network
During the first half of the year, EROSKI Group continued to roll out the initiatives set out in its strategic plan, aimed at enhancing competitiveness, driving profitable growth and strengthening the shopping experience both in physical stores and through digital channels.
Commercial performance was positive across all store formats, with sales growth in company-owned supermarkets, franchises, hypermarkets and cash & carry outlets.
EROSKI Group also continued to make progress in modernising its retail network and improving store productivity. Sales per square metre increased by 3.9% during the period, reflecting greater operational efficiency and more effective use of its retail assets.
Strengthening the Group’s financial position
The Group’s financial position remains solid, with its net financial leverage ratio at 2.0 times EBITDA. This consolidates a more efficient and balanced financial structure and strengthens the cooperative’s capacity to continue investing in growth, innovation and modernisation.
The Group also maintains a strong liquidity position and diversified sources of financing, providing stability and flexibility as it addresses its forthcoming strategic challenges.
“These results reflect the strength of our cooperative model and the trust that consumers place in EROSKI Group every day. We have continued to grow in what remains a challenging environment, strengthening a proposition based on choice, savings, quality, proximity and local products. Moreover, we continue to make progress with our strategic plan and strengthen our financial position, enabling us to face the future from a position of strength and continue creating value for our customers, our employees and the communities we serve,” said Rosa Carabel, CEO of EROSKI Group.
