Balance 2025

- EROSKI opened 46 new franchises in 2025 with a total investment exceeding 9 million euros and the creation of 276 jobs.
- In 2025, EROSKI was awarded ‘Best Franchise’ in the ‘Supermarket Franchises’ category at the “Comercio del Año 2026” awards, and was also recognized by the Spanish Franchise Association (AEF) as ‘Franchisor of the Year’.
- Catalonia and Andalusia have accounted for the highest number of openings.
EROSKI opened 46 franchises in the 2025 financial year, consolidating the sustained growth of its franchise network and strengthening its proximity-based commercial model. The total investment during the year amounted to more than 9 million euros and enabled the creation of 276 new jobs.
The autonomous communities where the highest number of openings were concentrated were Catalonia (15) and Andalusia (10). They are followed by Galicia (5), the Valencian Community (4), Madrid and the Basque Country (3 each), Navarre and Aragon (2 each), as well as Murcia and Castile and León (1 in each case).
EROSKI thus maintains the momentum of its franchise model, consolidating a network that exceeds 600 franchised stores across Spain. Throughout the 2026 financial year, the company expects to open more than 50 new franchises, continuing its franchise expansion with a focus on Catalonia, the Basque Country, Andalusia, Madrid, Levante, Galicia, and the Balearic Islands, in line with its strategy of sustainable and proximity-based growth.
“We are very satisfied with the evolution of our franchise network in 2025, which confirms the strength of the model and its ability to grow sustainably across different territories. The new openings strengthen our presence in key regions and allow us to continue advancing in our goal of bringing a competitive, proximity-based offer to more consumers”, says Alberto Cañas, Franchise Director of EROSKI.
Commercial formats
EROSKI franchises follow the “Contigo” commercial model, which integrates all the characteristics, innovations, and advantages of its network of company-owned stores. This model stands out for its commitment to local and regional products, quality fresh goods, the promotion of healthy eating, and a strong commitment to family savings, as well as responsible social and environmental management.
Likewise, the franchises are fully integrated into the EROSKI Group’s loyalty program, which has more than 6 million members and enables personalized benefits and promotions adapted to each customer’s shopping habits, strengthening the competitiveness of each store in its environment.
“The EROSKI Franchise model continues to strengthen thanks to a solid and competitive commercial proposal, fully aligned with current consumer priorities: savings, proximity, and quality fresh products. During the last financial year we have continued advancing in operational efficiency and process digitalization, providing our franchisees with tools that enhance their management and profitability. All of this allows us to consolidate a stable business project with a commitment to sustainable growth in each territory,” emphasizes Alberto Cañas.
Franchisee confidence
EROSKI is committed to a franchise model based on closeness and continuous support. It offers ongoing training, personalized advice from the start of the project, a logistics service adapted to the real needs of each store, and technological solutions that optimize day-to-day business management.
45% of EROSKI franchised stores are owned by multi-franchisees, a clear sign of the confidence generated by the model and an indicator of the project’s attractiveness, strength, and long-term stability.
The franchisee is recognized as one of the main growth drivers of the business. For this reason, EROSKI has specialized teams that carry out regular in-store follow-ups and support the planning and execution of commercial campaigns, helping to improve the competitiveness and performance of each establishment. “In the latest satisfaction survey, this advisory support was rated above 8.5 by franchisees,” adds the EROSKI Franchise Director.
Recognition as best franchise
Last year, EROSKI was awarded the ‘Best Franchise’ prize in the ‘Supermarket Franchises’ category at the ‘Retailer of the Year 2026’ awards. These awards are granted by consumers in Spain’s largest consumer competition and one of the largest market research studies in the retail sector. In addition, the Spanish Franchise Association (AEF) recognized EROSKI as ‘Franchisor of the Year’, a distinction that reinforces the strength and attractiveness of its franchise model.
Collaboration agreements
EROSKI maintains a collaboration agreement with the Spanish Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs Associations (CEAJE) to support and promote entrepreneurship among young business owners and freelancers. With this initiative, it not only strengthens its commitment to entrepreneurs but also contributes to the development of the local economy in different autonomous communities.
In 2025, EROSKI also signed an agreement with the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (CEPYME) to strengthen support for SMEs. This collaboration promotes actions aimed at facilitating entrepreneurship and improving the competitiveness of the local business ecosystem.
Likewise, EROSKI continues to expand its employability model for people with disabilities and social reintegration, an initiative that began in 2015. It currently has 11 stores adapted to this model, providing employment to more than fifty people: five in the Basque Country in collaboration with GUREAK and LANERAKO, four in Castile and León together with SOLTRA, and two in Catalonia with AMPANS and ENTREM.
