FUSILLI, urban food planning

FUSILLI is a Food and Natural Resources project funded by the Horizon 2020 research and innovation program of the European Union under. For four years, FUSILLI will focus on supporting cities to facilitate their transition to more sustainable food systems. To achieve this goal, the FUSILLI project combines the experience of 34 partners from 13 countries, including cities, universities, SMEs, NGOs and industries.
FUSILLI’s core ambition is to overcome barriers to developing and implementing integrated and systemic food policies that support the transition to sustainable food systems in urban, peri-urban and rural areas nearby. To achieve this goal, FUSILLI puts 12 cities in a learning and knowledge-sharing network to address the challenges of transforming the food system:
Each city will develop an open innovation ecosystem with the aim of implementing different innovative actions at all stages of the food chain, including production and processing, distribution and logistics, consumption, food waste, as well as governance.
