EROSKI opens a new supermarket in Pamplona, Navarre.

  • The new store offers a specialist range of fresh food products and a strong commitment to local products.
  • It has a sales area of 851 square meters and employs 31 people.
  • EROSKI works with around 380 suppliers in Navarre, with a purchasing volume of 250 million euros, and markets more than 3,200 regional products.

EROSKI will open a new supermarket tomorrow at number 67 Estafeta Street in Pamplona. The store, operating under the EROSKI/City banner, will have a 851-square-metre sales area.

This opening has created 31 jobs. The staff has received nearly 1,000 hours of training aimed at providing better customer solutions and strengthening the self-management of store teams.

Its commitment to savings is best reflected in EROSKI Club, the loyalty programme for its customer members, which offers highly attractive promotions as well as all the benefits of the Travel Club programme, and which in Navarre has more than 300,000 members.

Strong focus on local fresh products

“This new store we are opening in Pamplona will be supplied with a wide range of Navarrese products. Not only is this one of our organisation’s hallmarks, but it is also a major attraction for our customers,” says the Director of Supermarkets and Processes at EROSKI, Alberto Madariaga.

EROSKI works with more than 150 small agri-food producers in Navarre, whose products have prominent space in its stores across all sections. EROSKI’s commercial policy maximises local economies, creating wealth in the region and contributing to agri-food, economic and social development. This model promotes a highly diversified production network as a key element for the sector’s sustainability.

Another hallmark is its commitment to personalised customer service with the inclusion of staffed counters in the butcher, deli, and fish sections.

Dietary and organic products also have their place in the new supermarket, with areas dedicated to current food trends. This section is also complemented by a wide range of products for food intolerances (gluten, lactose, etc.) or suitable for low-fat, low-sugar, or low-salt diets.

More efficient and sustainable

This is also a more environmentally sustainable store. The new store model incorporates improvements in air conditioning, industrial refrigeration, and lighting. The use of more efficient and less polluting refrigerants, closed refrigerated cabinets, and LED lighting are some of the innovations implemented to reduce the store’s environmental impact, while also providing better lighting and more comfortable temperatures for customers. EROSKI’s next-generation stores are more eco-efficient and apply energy efficiency measures that reduce energy consumption compared to a conventional supermarket.

Although the new supermarket will open to the public tomorrow Thursday from 9:00 to 21:30, employees, their families, and EROSKI customer members will inaugurate the store this afternoon at 18:00. They will be joined by representatives from the Government of Navarre and Pamplona City Council, as well as EROSKI management and staff.
