EROSKI has appointed Asun Bastida as the new Director of Institutional Relations and Corporate Communication, following the departure of Mikel Larrea, who will take on the role of Director of the Confederation of Cooperatives of the Basque Country, Konfekoop. With more than 25 years of experience within the organization, Bastida takes on the role with the aim of strengthening cooperative governance and continuing to promote the values of participation, transparency, and social commitment that define EROSKI’s model.

In her new role, Asun Bastida will be responsible for defining the Group’s institutional relations and corporate communication strategies, identifying key positioning priorities and stakeholder groups. Her responsibilities will focus on promoting strategic partnerships with the surrounding environment, strengthening the cooperative’s presence in business and institutional forums, and representing the Group in sector associations, dialogue tables, and collaborative projects. She will also promote collaboration with universities, technology centers, and foundations, and manage relations with the media and opinion leaders, with the aim of protecting EROSKI’s interests and consolidating its position as a cooperative benchmark that is transparent and committed to people and its environment.

Asun Bastida, originally from Hondarribia (Gipuzkoa), holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Deusto and has specialized in finance. She began her professional career at EROSKI in 1996, where she has held various senior positions in the areas of People, Processes, and Systems, and since 2014, she has led the Local Product Commercial Department, driving the development of nearby agri-food suppliers and the creation of local value.

She is also a member of the Governing Council of :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0} S. Coop. and of the Board of Trustees of the EROSKI Foundation, as well as a member of the boards of the Food Clusters of Euskadi and Navarre. Her appointment reinforces the cooperative vocation and the company’s commitment to a leadership model based on participation and shared value creation.

“I take on this new stage with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility. EROSKI is a unique project because of its cooperative model, its commitment to people, and its ability to generate value in its environment. My goal is to continue strengthening this way of doing business, based on closeness, participation, and consistency between what we say and what we do. I begin this challenge with the pride of someone who has grown within the organization and with the commitment to continue contributing to its collective development,” said Asun Bastida following her appointment as Director of Institutional Relations and Corporate Communication of the Group.
