InformPack is a project co-financed by EIT Food with European Union funds that is exploring the intercultural variations that exist among consumers regarding food packaging as is related to the choice of product in shopping and disposal patterns.  The findings will be used to create actions, tools, and strategies that will influence public behavior and that will present solutions that will allow for the transition to a European ecosystem of more sustainable food packaging.

These include:

(i) Creating commitment activities and incentive strategies that are focused on the consumer and adapted to each country, based on facts and scientific data provided by packaging experts, and

(ii) Using co-creation to generate ideas that can be used for specific innovative actions in food packaging, reflecting the problems, public demands, and industry needs in each country.

Our focus

Using co-creation as a vehicle to generate ideas that can be used for specific innovative actions in the food packaging sector, reflecting the problems, public demands, and industry needs in each country.

InformPack adopts a trans-cultural focus that at the same time bears in mind the variations in each country regarding food packaging in Europe, such as the available product options and the corresponding packaging markets; the new public problems related to food packaging; the available systems; and the preferred public communication means and formats.

We listen to people’s concerns and questions:

Consumers tell us their beliefs, attitudes, and problems regarding the choice of packaging and disposal, so that alongside them we can create the topics and formats for the sharing of the campaigns.

This project began in 2022, will last 3 years, and includes 6 members: Aarhus University, VTT, BIOAZUL, MASPEX, the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the University of Reading and EROSKI.
