{"id":43527,"date":"2024-04-03T11:37:18","date_gmt":"2024-04-03T09:37:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/corporativo.eroski.es\/?post_type=projects&#038;p=43527"},"modified":"2024-05-02T09:54:12","modified_gmt":"2024-05-02T07:54:12","slug":"sisters","status":"publish","type":"projects","link":"https:\/\/corporativo.eroski.es\/en\/innovacion\/proyectos\/sisters\/","title":{"rendered":"SISTERS, systemic innovations for a sustainable reduction in European food waste"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>EROSKI participates in the project <a href=\"https:\/\/sistersproject.eu\/\">SISTERS<\/a>, funded by the EU within the framework of Horizon 2020. <a href=\"https:\/\/sistersproject.eu\/\">SISTERS<\/a> aims to reduce food loss and waste at the main stages of the food value chain in Europe through innovations targeted to each element of the value chain: new tools for primary producers to promote direct and short chain sales (farmers); new technological innovations in packaging for processors and retailers; and awareness campaigns for retailers and consumers on food loss and waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"850\" height=\"478\" src=\"https:\/\/corporativo.eroski.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/eroski-participa-proyecto-sisters.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-43686\" srcset=\"https:\/\/corporativo.eroski.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/eroski-participa-proyecto-sisters.jpg 850w, https:\/\/corporativo.eroski.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/eroski-participa-proyecto-sisters-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/corporativo.eroski.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/eroski-participa-proyecto-sisters-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/corporativo.eroski.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/eroski-participa-proyecto-sisters-450x253.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With the support of the European Commission, <a href=\"https:\/\/sistersproject.eu\/\">SISTERS<\/a> will be a key EU project that will address the problem in a holistic manner, reducing food loss and waste by 27.4% and CO2 emissions by around 20% in the case studies. Within the project, EROSKI leads a work package on the impact of <a href=\"https:\/\/sistersproject.eu\/\">SISTERS<\/a> innovations at the marketing stage, by demonstrating the advantages of innovative containers and packaging for wholesalers and retailers acceptance, creating guidelines on good practices and a seal of excellence for wholesalers and retailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project started in November 2021, will last for 4 years and comprises 18 partners from 8 different European countries:\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aitiip.com\/\">AITIIP Centro Tecnol\u00f3gico<\/a>\u00a0(ES)-project coordinator,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bm-services.com\/\">Agence BM-services<\/a>\u00a0(FR), Riberebro Integral S.A.
